Have you taken Prednisolone for tongue ulcers?

I have painful ulcers on my toungue and the back of my throat. The doctor told me to swish this Prednisolone around in my throat and swallow it to heal the ulcers. So far, I have read nothing online saying that that is what this drug is for. Most everything I've read says it treats eye ulcers or some other disease I have never heard of. Does anyone know if this medicine actually works for this? Note, it is PREDNISOLONE, not PREDNISONE.
