Have a cut on lip and want a shot of vodka...?
Because I heard alcohol, namely vodka, works as a disinfectant. Like I said, I have a bad cut on the inner center of my upper lip so I'm too paranoid to swish around hydrogen peroxide mixed with water in my mouth due to it's warnings about consumption and the fact that it's painful to spit/rinse thoroughly. Whereas, not only is vodka made for consumption, it will, apparently, effectively kill germs and help deter infections in wounds. Plus, it numbs physical pain (lip stings still when I smile, for example; injury was 2 days ago). Is that a valid idea? Are there any warnings against using vodka (80 proof) on wounds, esp inner mouth? Gimme some thoughts. I'm a health freak so I need facts and experiences, not people just guessing or assuming. (Also, just because I'm a health freak doesn't mean I can never have ONE shot in my lifetime. I'm over 21 also, so lay off the lectures that aren't relevant to my question, please).
