Oral thrush long lasting?
Sampson, sorry that your mouth problem is lasting so long-lasting. Oral thrush is caused by the fungus called either Candida or Monilia albicans. Since you received fluconazole (Diflucan), it should have worked. Since it did not and since it is long-lasting, the diagnosis is in question unless you are getting repeated re-infected from another source. Most important NOW is to get to a physician who will order a medical lab culture WITH SENSITIVITIES WHICH CAN CONCLUSIVELY IDENTIFY THE ORGANISM and determine which drugs are effective against your "bug." Good luck!
